The DNS records contain various lists for specific domain name settings.

A records are used to direct the web traffic of a website to another location,

usually a remote server. They are stored in the form of IP addresses.

The MX records affect the mail exchange of a domain name. They point the e-mail traffic to a concrete mail server, which handles the delivery of the messages.
